Grants - Previously Funded

Funding Supports a Variety of Programs

The Foundation awarded $51,741.91 in its spring and fall 2007 grant cycles and we’d like to describe for you some of the wonderfully innovative and exciting programs that were funded.  At the Middle School, latitudes and longitudes have come to life as geography students are using GPS units in their classroom.  Geographically speaking, third graders at Wealthy, have been studying the history and people of Alaska as well as dog-sledding and the Iditarod with a cross-disciplinary mix of resources.  Over at Breton, students are learning math and science by building motorized racecars out of advanced Lego pieces!  Speaking of math, Lakeside students have been using literature to better understand mathematical concepts.   And finally, at the high school, CSI EGR is developing the interests of budding forensic scientists as they work in the lab to solve crimes.  We thank our donors for making all of these programs and opportunities come to life for East students!
