2020 Community Service and Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner

For the safety and health of our award recipients and their guests, the Foundation decided to postpone its next biennial Awards Dinner from November 10, 2020, to September 30, 2021. We hope you will plan to join us this fall in recognizing our outstanding community member and inspirational alum and in support our students.

The 2020 Community Service and Distinguished Alumni Award recipients:

Bruce Towne, Jr. - Community Service Award Recipient, former EGRPS staff.

CDR Bill Krissoff, MD, Medical Corps, United Sates Navy (Ret.) - Distinguished Alumnus Award Recipient, Orthopedic Surgeon, Class of 1964.

2018 Community Service and Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner

The 2018 event was held November 1, 2018 at Thousand Oaks Golf Club. Through the generosity of sponsors and dinner guests, this event honored our award recipients while supporting the mission of the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation.

The 2018 Community Service and Distinguished Alumni Award recipients: .

• Elizabeth Welch, Class of 1988 - Community Service Award Recipient, public education advocate.

• Dr. Henry "Fritz" Schaefer III, Class of 1962 - Distinguished Alumnus Award Recipient, world renowned scientist.
