You can only have one: Rose’s caramel corn, an ice cream cone from Jersey Junction, or a Yesterdog. Which do you choose?
Yesterdog--the cheddar dogs are the best!
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be attending GVSU and will likely study Biochemistry and Pre-Law.
What have you learned in East that will enable you to be successful?
You don’t have to understand the opinions or perspectives of other people, but you do have to respect them in order to work together.
What were you like in school?
I’d say I got along with almost everybody and I was easygoing, but also a pretty big try-hard when it came to schoolwork.
Did you have a favorite teacher or class?
I’ve had many amazing teachers over my 4 years, but I’d have to say Mrs. Elderkin is my favorite :) I had her Freshman, Junior, and Senior year and I always loved her and her classes! (Go Team!!)
If you had to choose one moment in one location to serve as the signature moment of your East school experience, what would it be?
Junior year at the state Capitol--the moment the Weeple team discovered we had won States. We weren’t expecting it because we only won 2 out of 6 units (there is an awesome video of us finding out!).
What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?
It’s okay to take a break from schoolwork!
Who from East do you think you’ll stay in touch with in the future?
My Academic Support Group--we need each other to survive schoolwork.
What advice do you have for young East kids?
It goes by fast- don’t forget to enjoy it along the way!
Bonus question: What are you glad we didn’t ask you about?
My first high school dance experience.
