A Virtual Cup of Coffee with Charlotte Borden '20

You can only have one: Rose’s caramel corn, an ice cream cone from Jersey Junction, or a Yesterdog. Which do you choose?
Yesterdog.

What are your plans after graduation?
College, Animation/Writing career.

What have you learned in East that will enable you to be successful?
As long as there's a table in front of me, I can catch myself if I fall asleep standing-up.

What were you like in school?
A BIG nerd.

Did you have a favorite teacher or class?
Latin.

If you had to choose one moment in one location to serve as the signature moment of your East school experience, what would it be?
Once at the end of Latin class, during my sophomore year, I was wondering, "are stage slaps actually realistic?" So, without saying anything I stage-slapped a friend (did NOT actually hit them)...Mr. Albaugh's reaction proved that it was realistic.

What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?
Everyone has things to deal with; you can't judge someone from the face they wear in school.

Who from East do you think you’ll stay in touch with in the future?
My friends.

What advice do you have for young East kids?
Don't take AP classes just to take AP classes. Have a reason to do advanced placement.

Bonus question: What are you glad we didn’t ask you about?
Sports.
