Chocolate Monster ice cream from Jersey Junction will always be my go to.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to go to the University of Michigan to study at the Ross School of Business.
What have you learned in East that will enable you to be successful?
East has taught me how to balance your passions yet still make time to focus your energy on every activity. East gave me so many opportunities to try new things and become involved in many different extracurriculars while also teaching me how to manage my schedule. I think this is a valuable skill that I will need for the rest of my life.
What were you like in school?
I definitely was more focused and quieter in some classes as I was a hard working student and wanted to do well in school, but in other classes I would love to talk and share my ideas (especially in Madrigals; I got in trouble a lot for talking to Belle Gorsline).
Did you have a favorite teacher or class?
My favorite class was probably Constitutional Studies (Weeple class) because I made amazing lifetime friends and learned valuable skills on how to work with others. For my favorite teacher, I can't pick just one. I'm so thankful to have such amazing teachers who have helped me grow as a person, especially my teachers during senior year as I loved every one of my classes this year.
If you had to choose one moment in one location to serve as the signature moment of your East school experience, what would it be?
I would choose when everyone sat around the campfire at senior retreat. Everyone was so happy and it really made me excited for senior year with my classmates. They all are the nicest people and I'm so glad I was a part of this class.
What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?
I wish I would have known that in the end, everything will work out and you will end up where you are supposed to end up. I definitely spent a lot of time overthinking and striving for perfection when it wasn't necessary. I would define success as putting forth your best effort and that is all that really matters.
Who from East do you think you’ll stay in touch with in the future?
I will definitely stay in touch with my best friends and also my Weeple and lacrosse teammates. I have made great friends at East and I know I'll continue to keep these friendships after high school.
What advice do you have for young East kids?
My advice would be to make the most of your time here at East. If you are interested in something, whether it be a certain club, class, or sport, try it out. Go to every sports game or event you can. Especially with losing the end of my senior year, I realized that the moments I will look back on are the many memories I made at events I went to and activities I participated in in high school. You don't want to look back on school and regret not experiencing a certain event.
Bonus question: What are you glad we didn’t ask you about?
I am glad you didn't ask me about how I am coping with losing big events in my senior year and how I am coping with quarantine.
