What are your plans after graduation?
I'm studying Government and Politics at the University of Maryland.
What have you learned in East that will enable you to be successful?
Organization is half the battle.
What were you like in school?
I kind of flew under the radar in class but once people got to know me better I was quite loud (just ask Mrs. Michell).
Did you have a favorite teacher or class?
Mrs. Carlson. I liked all my teachers and each one taught me valuable life lessons, but I had Mrs. Carlson for three years in High School (2.5 of which I had her for the same hour), and even though I am not going into Biology or Chemistry in college she made the classes more enjoyable and taught me good organization skills and a really good work ethic that will be really helpful in the future.
If you had to choose one moment in one location to serve as the signature moment of your East school experience, what would it be?
Matthew Stein and I got reported for taking pom-poms with us to play a JV tennis match and doing a cheer every time we won a point.
What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?
Time flies, so enjoy the moment.
Who from East do you think you’ll stay in touch with in the future?
I'll stay in touch with anyone who I became close with in high school.
What advice do you have for young East kids?
Don't wait for opportunities to come to you. If you want something to happen, make it happen. Also, don't overthink too much, just have fun with whatever situation you end up in.
Bonus question: What are you glad we didn’t ask you about?
The time I ran into a pole and needed stitches on my head the summer after freshman year.
