Will Allen is in the graduating class of 2024 and has been a student representative on the EGRSF Board since 2022. He serves on the PR committee.
Will is a great resource to the Foundation, in part because of his varied interests. He's ranked third in the world in the jaw-dropping sport of Cup Stacking, and he once set a world record in his specialty.
During his time as a student at East his favorite subject was definitely History. He has taken it all 4 years. After graduation, he plans on studying education to be a teacher and hopes to teach history or social studies.
In the summer Will volunteers at the John Ball Zoo. He loves working with the kids and has volunteered to be a counselor for the 1st-2nd grade summer camp. He's looking forward to being a counselor there again this summer!
Will decided to join the Foundation board because he had experienced first hand how the Foundation board benefits students. Throughout his time at East, he has seen teachers rave about the support and funding received from the Foundation.
When asked about his favorite grant he shared, "My favorite grant has to be the cooking club grant. It was really exciting seeing my classmates bring something new to the school because of the foundation. The turnout for the club was great too! Dozens of people show up each month."
Will also wants to remind teachers, parents, students and community members that, "The foundation benefits everyone! Do not be afraid to request a grant."
