No two kindergarteners are alike. So when it comes to helping them learn to read, kindergarten teachers want to have all the resources they need to give each student the best possible instruction.
That’s why Breton Downs kindergarten teachers Norah Knoerl, Nicole Vanderplow, and Jenna Jenkins applied for a Foundation mini grant last fall to fund Snap Word/Phonics Learning Tools for their classrooms. The grant was only for $260.95, but Vanderplow says it’s already helping kids.
“We are in love with our Heidi songs!” she says of the catchy ditties that introduce students to sight words. “They are engaging and catchy! Thank you to the foundation!”
