The East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation enriches the educational experience of our students by funding excellence in teaching and learning that requires financial support beyond the district.
To that end, the Foundation will encourage excellence in teaching at all educational levels for all students.While the Foundation is autonomous in organization and responsibility, it is its clear intention to pursue the above goals in close cooperation with the East Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education, administrators, teachers, students, and community.
The primary purpose of the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation is to promote the quality of academic life by enhancing or initiating those exceptional programs which are not or will not normally be underwritten by the East Grand Rapids Public Schools system.
Three types of grants may be requested: Mini-Grants, Foundation Grants and Superintendent’s Mini-Grants. Requests for mini-grants, up to $1,500, may be submitted at any time during the year. Requests for foundation grants, over $1,500, may be submitted two times a year: March 1 and November 1. Requests for superintendent’s mini-grants, up to $500 for continued learning for staff, may be submitted at any time during the year until May 1. Grants may be submitted by administration, staff, students, parents or community members and require building administrator approval.
