A Virtual Cup of Coffee with Payton Patterson '20

You can only have one: Rose’s caramel corn, an ice cream cone from Jersey Junction, or a Yesterdog. Which do you choose?
Jersey Junction.

What are your plans after graduation?
Earn a degree in college.

What have you learned in East that will enable you to be successful?
How to manage my time.

What were you like in school?
Quirky.

Did you have a favorite teacher or class?
I liked them all.

If you had to choose one moment in one location to serve as the signature moment of your East school experience, what would it be?
The moments between classes when I would talk with my teachers.

What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you were younger?
How to code.

Who from East do you think you’ll stay in touch with in the future?
My friends Remi and Ben.

What advice do you have for young East kids?
Even when nobody else is, believe and trust yourself. The moment you don’t means that you’ve lost yourself. Self confidence is one of the best virtues a person can have, but it can also be a burden. Know the difference between when it is good and when it is not.

Bonus question: What are you glad we didn’t ask you about?
Anything that would have been too personal or negative for me.
