This year's elementary and secondary Excellence in Teaching Awards and the James and Georgia Nicholas Endowed Award for a Teacher of Math, Science or Technology were presented at the EGRPS Opening Day ceremony August 17.
The 2021 elementary Excellence in Teaching honoree is Hannah Bailey, who teaches kindergarten at Lakeside. Katie RietKerk, who teaches health at the high school, was selected as the secondary school Excellence in Teaching Award winner.
This year's winner of the James and Georgia Nicholas Endowed Award for a Teacher of Math, Science or Technology is Michelle Kirk, who teaches 3rd grade at Lakeside.
It's always difficult to single out teachers from the dozens of outstanding educators who teach in our district. Every year, we're inundated with nominations. Congratulations to these three for being chosen from numerous worthy nominees.
