It’s our last grant to highlight on our Top 40 list before we move into our top ten, and we have a great one.
Since 2005, the Foundation has been proud to support the East Grand Rapids High School Science Olympiad team. Our most recent grant to the program was just last year.
“Science Olympiad competitions are like academic track meets, consisting of a series of team events,” according to the national organization. “Each year, a portion of the events are rotated to reflect the ever-changing nature of genetics, earth science, chemistry, anatomy, physics, geology, mechanical engineering and technology. By combining events from all disciplines, Science Olympiad encourages a wide cross-section of students to get involved. Emphasis is placed on active, hands-on group participation. Through Science Olympiad, students, teachers, parents, principals and business leaders bond together and work toward a shared goal.”
This year’s team recently competed in the Hawk and Hornet Invitational at Troy High School, where they placed in the top 5 in two events and the top 10 in two more.
Thank you, Foundation donors, for making this possible. You can help support our mission of investing in educational enhancements for all our students on our Donate page.
