Foundation Funds New Portable Sound System at Wealthy

Something’s been missing from a lot of recent events at Wealthy Elementary: “Clean otter show.”

Wait, that can’t be right. Clean otter show? No, no, no. Clear audio.

See, for a long time Wealthy has been making do with outdated audio equipment. But this spring, Wealthy Elementary Principal Stephanie Olson and district hardware specialist Kurtis Lehman applied for a grant from the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation to purchase a new portable sound system for the school.

"This grant for portable sound systems will have a tremendous impact on Wealthy Elementary by enhancing large community events like Field Day, the Wizard Walk, and Neurodiversity Awareness Month,” Olson says. “This system will ensure that all students, families, and staff can fully participate, hear important announcements, and share in the excitement of these special moments. Additionally, the ability to add music will help set the tone, boost energy, and strengthen the positive climate and culture we strive to create at our schools."

Olson’s excitement about the new equipment comes through loud and clear. Thank you, Foundation donors, for making this possible for our students!
