In the fall of 2024, Elementary Library Coordinator Sarah Webber applied for a grant from the Foundation for a Book Repair Machine.
Exciting, right?
But wait. Webber now calls the device her “Magic Repair Machine,” and it’s helped her repair hundreds of books that otherwise would have been removed from the library.
The “Magic Repair Machine” heats up the glue in the book bindings, so the glue that holds the book together can be removed and replaced by one of the glue strips that came with the machine. The grant included funding for one hundred additional glue strips, enough to repair hundreds more books.
Thank you, Foundation donors, for funding this grant and keeping hundreds of books in the hands of our students!
