Sometimes a grant application comes along and the first thing you think is, “Well, of course. Why isn’t that already happening?”
That was the case with student Keira Murphy’s application for a mini-grant from the Foundation for $341.11 to provide feminine hygiene products in bathrooms at the high school and middle school through the Girl Up Club.
“Students are now able to come to school and use necessary feminine hygiene products without having to worry about forgetting to bring their own or the cost,” Murphy wrote in her evaluation of the grant. “The responses showed immense gratitude and pleasure. Multiple peers showed their gratitude and excitement towards this project as the Girl Up Club members were restocking the supplies in each of the restrooms, showing the importance and positivity spread through essential products being provided.
“This grant allows our Middle and High School restrooms to be supplied with feminine hygiene products, free to use by all staff and students that may require such products.”
