As the old saying goes, “there are no small parts, only small actors.” Each year, East Grand Rapids’ three elementary schools stage all-school musicals, offering students the opportunity to explore and experience the performing arts.
For the last several years, the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation has helped sponsor the shows at Breton Downs, Lakeside, and Wealthy, as part of the Foundation's $100,000+ commitment to the performing arts this school year.
These productions create a collaborative space that allows students to build emotional intelligence, develop creativity, improve focus, and, for some, overcome social anxiety. Whether students are behind the scenes building sets, running lights and sound systems, or on center stage, each child walks away feeling like a star.
