Trying to create a smooth pathway from elementary school to middle school to high school for the Robotics program is a little like trying to do the same thing for a student: There are going to be some bumps in the road.
For Robotics, there are times when the high school program is especially strong. Some years, the elementary school program is going gangbusters. And some years it’s the middle school program’s turn.
This spring, a grant request from the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation was funded to try to give the middle school program some continuity. For three years, the Foundation will donate $2,000 annually to sponsor the EGRMS Robotics Team, along with $987 to fund three new iPads for the team.
Combined, the grants are designed to give EGRMS Robotics program predictability and stability that it hasn’t always had. They’ll also give our students more versatility that will allow them to use more imagination and creativity.
