This year’s Excellence in Teaching Award recipients are Breton Downs Elementary second grade teacher Kristen Borak at the elementary level and EGRHS social studies teacher Adam Horos at the secondary level. EGRHS science teacher Corey Kapolka is being honored with the James and Georgia Nicholas Endowed Award for a Teacher of Math, Science, or Technology.
EGRSF Executive Director Amy Turner-Thole and EGRSF Board President Jim Seufert presented the awards at the EGRPS Opening Day assembly August 18. “This morning, we get to recognize just a few of you,” Turner-Thole said before announcing the awards, “but I know you all go above and beyond to make teaching such an amazing profession and improve students’ lives every day.”
